Mesfin Assefa
My name is Mesfin Assefa Welliso. I am “Media Coordinator” in Wycliffe Ethiopia. I was born
in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I am married. I speak 4 languages: Amharic, English, Guragigna, and
Hadiyigna (respectively with level of fluency). I worked in “Segel Promotion” company as
Public Relation and “Laurate Promotion” company as General Manager. And, I worked in
“Medical Newspaper Press” for Medical Newspaper, and in “Memorial Language Institute” and
in “Wegagen College” as instructor. I also worked in “Child Evangelism Fellowship – CEF” as
Translator, and then, in Society for International Ministry – SIM, as “Translation Checker”.
I have joined “Wycliffe Ethiopia” when the SIM literature and publication department has been
phase-out. Then one of my colleague (Matiyas) who had been working in SIM (now works in
Wycliffe Ethiopia) recommended me for Wycliffe Ethiopia. Working in Wycliffe Ethiopia gives
me an inspiration for my passion. Meaning that, all the departments, the working environment,
the staffs’ socialization, the weekly Chapple Program, curiosity for realizing most of Ethiopian
languages, the learning spirit, and especially, the heart of serving God in all its effort make me
pleased and it is my honor to work in Wycliffe Ethiopia. I am serving the Lord in my Church,
like in “Education and Training” department – in teaching, in leading Bible Study groups and in
Choir. And, in my spare time, I read, do exercise, play Table Tennis, and go out for walk.
